We're
Building
. . .
not just mortar, bricks, & wood
but with people strong and good!
August 24, 2008
THIS WEEK
- Exterior wall construction has begun
- Interior wall framing has begun
- The south bearing wall has been built
- Windows and doors have been delivered
THIS COMING
WEEK
- Interior wall construction will continue
- Preparation work for new gabled roof will continue
ISSUES
ARISING
- Because the original fill used in 1961 contained organic
matter, the slab through out our existing structure has settled several
inches
in many places.
- $7,900 was spent to lift the slab in new
bathrooms
- Cost of lifting the slab in the old parish
hall to match the new slab will be decided as work proceeds
- The cost of replacing foundational soil for
the new slab was $3,420
- Increased price of structural steel was
$8,730
- Framing tie-in of new roof with existing
sanctuary will cost $2,000.
- Until the site work is approved and done, a
temproary sidewalk will be installed to the new entrance
THE PARISH HOUSE
Since the
prospective buyer intends to immediately raze the house and replace it
with a one-story medical office building, we are planning to revise our
variance application (this wil involve a few more months), increase the
price of the house, and coordinate our site work to coorespond with the
building of the new medical office.
“Your
building expansion is important because it is a bold statement
that the People of Christ the King are committed to investing their
money and
resources to serving this community in Jesus’ name!” The Rev. Bruce
Davidson,
Assistant to the Bishop
