The Education Team oversees all our programs that seek to help persons toward a better understanding of the scriptures and toward a deeper understanding of the Christian faith and God's word.

The philosophy of the Social Ministry is that we are children of God and have made a choice to pool our resources (time, talent, prayer, gifts) to reach out to others in the community.  There are two facets: motivating persons to be advocates for those in need and reaching out to others in direct service.  The Team seeks to inform members of opportunities to give time, money, and abilities to address situations of social concern and personal need.

The Property Team is responsible for both inside and outside maintenance of the church, parish house, and grounds.  The Team is involved in all aspects of capital improvement. Clean-ups are scheduled in the spring and fall when church members are invited to help.

The Financial Resources Team has responsibility for overseeing and managing the financial affairs of the church:

In addition, the Financial Resources Team encourages persons to give financially to the work of the church.  The Team plans and directs the annual fall funding appeal for the next year's Congregation budget.  It coordinates special appeals for giving and informs the congregation of various needs and opportunities to give to God's work beyond the Congregation.  The Team works to foster giving in proportion to our personal resources.

The Team comprises the Treasurer, the Financial Secretary, Council representative, and three church members one of whom serves as Chairman.  Team members serve for one year.

The Finance Team meets monthly during budget preparation, September through November, and quarterly after the budget is submitted.

The Worship and Music Team assists the Pastor and Director of Music in developing and maintaining the worship life of our congregation.  The areas with which it is concerned include the choirs, lay worship leaders such as deacons, acolytes, and cantors, ushers, special music, and the planning of worship occasions which answer the needs of our congregation and our community.  The Team extends a warm welcome to guests and newcomers.

The Disciple Ministries Team leads the congregation in planning, overseeing and guiding its efforts to foster supportive and familiar bonds among its members so that they will be able to provide nurture, care, attention, and support to one another.

Fellowship opportunities are offered whereby the congregation can foster meaningful and spiritual relationships with each other.  The congregation is asked for input in the planning and support of calendar events.  Time and Talent sheets are available for everyone (if they wish) to express their areas of interest. Additionally, a variety of events are planned each year for fellowship and social fun.

The Team mentors prospective and new members at Christ the King to familiarize them with our congregation and make them feel at home.  The Hospitality chairperson oversees the weekly coffee hour after worship services and assists the hosts of the day.  The Disciple Ministries Team maintains the master church calendar and keeps everyone informed on what's happening and when.  You may be contacted and asked to volunteer as a greeter at a service to welcome visitors and current members into worship service.

If you have any questions about what the Disciples Ministry Team does, give the chairperson a call or visit a meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00PM at church.

The OutReach Team oversees Christ the King's efforts to seek out, invite, and welcome persons into acknowledging and participating in God's relationship with them as sons and daughters.  We especially welcome input from those who have recently started coming to our church.  What were your first impressions?

The Men's Group at Christ the King meet once a month for planning and two times a year for breakfast and programs of interest to them.  They take an active part in providing fellowship to the congregation through sponsoring sporting events, the church picnic, and other events as planned.  Service is also part of their agenda.  They move tables for the flea market, put up the Christmas Tree for decorating, and decorate the outside of the Church for Christmas.

All men are invited to join.

The Women of the ELCA meet monthly on the second Monday in the afternoon.  The meetings generally consist of a brief worship, business, and a group craft project for the annual Holiday Craft Boutique held in November, along with socializing. Programs and discussions are interspersed when leaders are available.

With the help and support of the congregation, WELCA is active in projects for Lutheran World Relief, involved with money donations for LWR's annual blanket drive, supplies for school kits, health kits, and sewing kits used both here in the United States and overseas.  WELCA also supports local projects such as Crawford House and the Home Tribune Needy Cases Fund.

All women are welcome and invited.  Just come out to any meeting.
